The importance of seeing friends
The importance of seeing friends Melbourne, Australia Melbourne, Australia
When I started this year, and particularly this trip, I imagined that the most important thing to me would be friends I made and things I saw. It isn't to put either of those things down that I rocket a different factor to the top of the list-I feel very lucky to have caught up with friends, who have looked after me as if I were one of the family. I don't know that I did anything to deserve such in the UK, but hope I've at least been a decent guest to justify it. First the Pengellys fed me, drove me round and housed me for two weeks in Perth, and now the McGarrs have done the same in Manly. I lived with Justin in his flat in Reading, but that was over 10 years ago-now he has a wife and two small children, none of whom I'd met. It has been a privilege to be a part of both families, and that will be the abiding memory of my time in Australia.
Both Perth and Sydney friends can have the same review: too generous, most hospitable, comfortable accomodation, would recommend highly, 5/5.
Bonus review of Aldi I found on google: "this was an amazing experience. I loved the way the food was all in a big room and you could buy it".
